Acanthus Mollis is a garden plant used in tropical gardens around the world.

The name "Canthus" is an arbitrary configuration, derived from and inspired by the name of the acanthus leaf that the Greeks immortalized in marble Corinthian capitals starting in the 4th Century B.C.E.

The acanthus leaf is a decorative element used in fine architecture, interior design and furniture design throughout Western history.

The stylized wreath pattern of two interlocked mirror image acanthus leafs has been the Goodmans' business logo since 1980.
