In order to see the spectacular citiscape from the bed, we raised it on an illuminated built-in platform, angled into the room. The citiscape is mirrored in the headboard.

The footboard held tons more storage, including the audio-video equipment. Even the window seats had drawers beneath.

But of course the TV is called up at the foot of the bed in time for CNN, as it should be in a luxurious pied a terre. (Please don't laugh. In 1984, this was the height of electronic sophistication. They barely had surround sound in the movie theaters!)
