An elegantly proportioned long salon, nearest the main entrance, opens into the ballroom through two sets of four huge sliding doors, or opens onto a lovely covered patio overlooking the park.
Wide plank variable width flooring, cast bronze period lighting and a warm and welcoming fireplace create a lovely room for cocktails before dinner.
Tons of sheetrock, thousands of linear feet of moldings and reams of paperwork go into a remodeling job like Carltun on the Park.
And when it's all painted, polished and lit, it's a brand new "old" room.
Partway down the salon, we dropped a curved ceiling to accentuate two bars under the lower end soffits. This portion of the floor was done in marble.
This shows all the shaping required, and the structure created to hold the four enormous solid doors that slide back into the walls when dinner in the ballroom is announced.
The finished space is now a versatile background for any type of party, reception or function.
